which installation of linux on appletv?

Hi All,

I'm working on a little project that I'd like to move from being mac mini to appletv based, but need some assistance on how to make sense of all the helpful information put out there.

I'm looking to replace my new appleTV with a linux distro- and was wondering what is the most straightforward instructions for installation a version of linux that has support for video out via hdmi, network wifi, and (this part i can work out on my own if its not already there) eventual usb microphone support?

It's hard for me to tell what the most barebones setup with easy repo update (like debian apt ) would be appropriate?
